From Vernal, drive north on US Hwy 191. After passing the entrance to Steinaker State Park on you left, continue a short distance to where the highway takes a gentle bend to the right. A small pullout is on your left dropping off the shoulder on a dirt track. The 1.6 mile long route from here is a jeep trail that crosses several washes and patches of wind-blown sand - 4 wheel drive is recommended. Cross a wash and pass through the gate (please keep it closed). after 0.4 miles, turn left on another track and continue straight 0.9 miles. Turn right , then left, continue 0.2 miles and turn right on the short track to the trail head. at this point, you will be right up against a sandstone ridge and the arch is a short walk on a well worn trail into the ridge and to the arch.
